Ultram use
Ultram is a man-made pain reliever. Ultram is used to treat serious pain and chronic body condition. It makes you forget your worries but it is important not to get dependent on it as it is still a drug that should be taken seriously. Ultram was designed to dislocate severe pain. Extended release tablets are used for moderate to moderately severe pain that is chronic in adults who require continuous treatment for a certain period of time.
Ultram forms
Tablets (immediate release): 50 mg. Tablets (extended release): 100, 200, and 300 mg.
Ultram storage
Try to keep it at room temperature, 15-30°C (59-86°F). Ultram needs to stay sealed to be effective.
Ultram dosage
The immediate release tablets should be consumed every 4-6 hours, depending on the pain you are feeling. The maximum dose you are allowed to take is 400 mg/day. To improve tolerance patients should be started at 25 mg/day, and doses may be increased by 25 mg every 3 days to reach 100 mg/day (25 mg 4 times daily). This means doses can be raised to 50 mg every 3 days to reach 200 mg day. It is absolutely not necessary for Ultram to be taken with food. It taken without it , it will still be fine – without any damages to the organism.
Recommended dose for extended release tablets is 100 mg daily which may be increased by 100 mg every 5 days but not to exceed 300 mg /day. Extended release tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed.
Missed dose
If you found yourself missing a dose, please do not try to catch up. The rearrangement of your treatment schedule is not being instructed by anyone so just try to be on time with your medication. You should take your doctor’s advice if you are having any trouble with managing your medical course. Ask your medical assistant for more information on this matter.
Ultram warnings and precautions
It is not recommended for Ultram to be used together with other drugs as it may increase the inactivation of the body. Ultram can increase central nervous system and respiratory depression when mixed with alcohol, anaesthetics, narcotics, tranquilizers or sedative hypnotics.
It is not 100% safe to consume Ultram during your pregnancy period.It is not totally safe to consume Ultram during your nursing period.
Ultram side-effects
There aren’t many side effects with Ultram. Usually it is well managed. But those that have been researched upon are: vomiting, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness. Less commonly reported side effects include itching, sweating, visual disturbances, and vertigo.
Ultram overdose
If you suspect yourself of having an overdose please note that these are the symptoms of overdose: cold and clammy skin, low body temperature, slowed breathing, slowed heartbeat, drowsiness, dizziness, deep sleep, loss of consciousness, seizures.
